HIP POCKET is a multi-ethnic collaboration between local poets, actors, choreographers, and, musicians designed to encourage literacy through the rhythm and power of word play in students daily lives. Comments from last year's hit HIP POCKET Music, poetry, messages about respect – all very appropriate to the different ages. Students remained totally focused and interested throughout the entire performance. What I learned about was, that doing your homework is always important, always! I learned that poems are good. Thank you for coming to our school and your hard work! I liked when you helped each other together! Great connection to what students experience personally in school, and the importance of literacy, language, and expression. Your assembly was awesome! I’m glad you taught us about respect. Overall, great message and great positive advice to these children! I loved the assembly. My class is doing haikus. I love to write especially long letters like this. The onomatopoeias were awesome. It was funny, humorous, and an incredible show. You all did a fantastic job. I love to write poetry and haikus. I also love to read. |
