Your Support Makes an Impact!
The work of Lamb's Players Theatre wouldn’t be possible without the commitment of people like YOU -- individuals, families, service clubs, corporations, and foundations that make up the LPT Family. Your generosity enables us to:
Ticket revenue covers only 75% of our actual costs. In every production, YOU have a crucial role to play – imagine a play without a quarter of its budget, and that’s where your entrance makes a world of difference! Your 25% provides a working wage for professional actors, designers, and technicians. Or, that 25% purchases materials for costumes, sets, lights, sound, props, and programs.
Without faithful supporters, LPT would rely soley on performance revenue, have higher ticket prices, take fewer risks in bringing exciting new productions to life, and employ people sporadically rather than having an ongoing ensemble working together over many years.
In short, we’d have to charge more and do less. See why we’re so thankful for your support? Our “LPT Family” makes a valuable difference in filling that gap – keeping our ticket prices affordable; enabling us to offer discounts to groups, students, seniors, and active military; allowing LPT to operate within its unique ensemble structure and make an ongoing impact though its diverse array of programs.
Thanks to your gift Lamb’s Players Theatre maintains… The Third Largest Theatre With a staff of 60 and an annual budget of over $4 million. LPT is not only the third-largest professional theatre company in the San Diego region, its size and budget make it one of the top 50 theatres in the U.S.
Two Performance Spaces
Live theatre employs a host of creative individuals, not only preparing the components of a production in advance, but executing it in a fresh and exciting way seven times a week over the course of two months. Your support provides not only personnel and materials, but enables LPT to operate and maintain two theatres - vibrant gathering places where audiences experience a living art form that surpasses the two-dimensional medium of the screen.
Year-Round Artistic Ensemble
Your support does more than provide a paycheck for performers, directors, and designers. It enables LPT to be an artistic home for an ensemble of gifted individuals, working together over the course of a season, or many seasons. LPT’s amazing Resident Ensemble includes staff members who have worked together for over 30 years!
Educational Outreach
LPT offers a diverse menu of programs all year long, serving 20,000-40,000 students annually – touring performances for elementary and middle school assemblies, workshops and residencies both in school and after school, Summer Drama Camps for grades 3-12, and customized internships for college students. Your gifts enable us to keep our programs accessible by providing free touring performances, camp scholarships, and discounted theatre tickets to students who cannot afford them.
“The play was really awesome. I like that you guys acted out a lot on respect, integrity and all that good stuff…I hope to see you guys again because we don’t get this kind of thing. It was really cool to have you guys come here for free. Thank you!”

PlayWork
LPT’s own script development program helps playwrights take important steps in moving their work toward production. Working with the LPT Resident Ensemble and invited dramaturges and directors, writers move from early drafts, through focused problem solving, to a script ready for staging. Premieres of workshop-developed scripts include Joyful Noise, Tim Slover’s award-winning play about George Frederick Handel; David McFadzean’s Oklahoma Rigs and Deep River; and Dennis Hassell’s The Glory Man, a fascinating look at the life and work of Clarence Jordan, who wrote The Cotton Patch Gospels and was instrumental in the founding of Habitat for Humanity.
At LPT, we believe in saying Thank You in as many ways as possible!
Below are the benefits of becoming a supporter of our work. All categories include the perks of personal satisfaction, tax deductions, and interaction with LPT’s fabulous and accessible staff.
LPT Endowment Trust, Gift of Securities and LPT's Encore Circle are a few ways you can help.
The artistic programs of Lamb’s Players Theatre would not be possible without the partnership of our Corporate Sponsors. We are grateful for their generosity. That generosity has allowed us to repaint, carpet, clean and refresh our theatres and corporate office spaces, even including our landscape maintenance!
In 1997, LPT’s Endowment Trust was established by the Board of Trustees to ensure the long-term financial stability of Lamb's Players Theatre and its programs. While gifts can be made directly to the Lamb’s Players Family Fund or to any number of LPT projects, donors can also consider designating their gift or some portion of the gift, for the Lamb’s Players Endowment Trust.
The Endowment Trust provides for the long-term financial stability of the organization by annually awarding Lamb’s Players a percentage of the net income of the trust, thereby fully protecting permanency of the invested corpus contained in the trust.
Help us preserve Lamb’s Players Theatre for our children and grandchildren for generations to come.
LPT’s Endowment Trust is governed by its own distinct Board of Trustees. The investment and financial advisory firm of Dowling and Yahnke, Inc. independently manages the funds.
Within the Endowment Trust is a special fund, which supports LPT's Educational Programs. The Mary-Lynn Deddeh Fund for Kids was established to provide tickets for students to attend live theatre and to provide LPT's educational programs in area schools. As a former music and drama teacher in the Sweetwater Union High School District, Mary-Lynn has been an educator and encourager of young people her entire adult life. She is a long-time member of LPT’s Board of Trustees, and has advocated and volunteered for the company in countless ways.
